Typical is the ring shaped pommel. Similar swords have been excavated throughout Ireland, with the ring shaped pommel presumed to date back to the 13th century. Several originals are nowadays part of the collection of the National Archaeological Museum in Dublin. The sword is 105 cm in length, with a wide blade and an S shaped cross
