germanic scroll fibula putensen silvered bronze Bont en imitatiebont Drinking horn fittings were usedThis one fibula is based on a find from a warrior grave in the Longobardian brandgraber field of Putensen near Hamburg, dating from around 50 AD. The fibula belonged to an approximately 30 year old Germanic warrior with unusually rich burial equipment, which indicates contacts with the Roman army. Performed in silvered bronze, with dimensions of 6 x 3. 5 x 3 cm. Characteristic of this type are the small, semi circular caps that cover the needle coil.
