It was an inspiration that came from my 7 yr. old daughter, who said,“Mommy I want to be a Ballerina in your next fashion show”.

My life is a story that started in India & is continuing here after being married to a wonderful man!! It started with me, & God added two beautiful ballerinas in our lives, who present our wonderful story…..

Movement, from Yoga to Ballet

The runway show via movement, explains how the cultures of the mystical East, so different from the modern west, are yet united in their beauty & grace of movement. Art can be a bridge between humans all around the globe, & it is this unifying force that makes us all alike, the way we feel, the way we express, the way we move & the way we dance…..

As I paint my scarves for the show, ranging from mystical OM’s to Modern radiant Orchids, I feel blessed & honored to say I have finally arrived…  My show is a collaboration of the talented yoga instructors & amazing dancers from Destiny Dance Institute of Wake forest (www.destinydanceinstitute.com), choreographed by master dancer Ruth Leney Midkiff.

The runway opens with the spiritual movement of the East, performed by the amazing yogis amidst the OM chants, combined with the modern dancers, & comes to rest with the finale of a Radiant Orchid delight dancing to the tune of “Chopin”.

For helping me showcase my scarves I would like to thank these master performers without whom there would be no movement.

My Dancers from Destiny dance Institute: Kaitlyn, Sandra, Britaney, Bailey, Emily & Lauren. My yoginis, who are professional instructors at Evolve movement studio: Rachel Wright (www.YogiRachel.com), Lauren Robinson, Hayley Hedges. Our Yogi, Christopher Grohs (www.vigorplusvim.com) from the newly opened Studio “Celestine” for  healing arts & embodied play , a part of Cirque De Vol Studios In Raleigh.
