The Process

I fell in love with Jacquard silk dyes when I saw the amazing brilliance & hues produced by the 20 available shades. My pallette ranges from the gentle soft pink that lights up the sky during sunrise to the dark orange fury of raging fire.

My design process is simple. it’s my dream or nature’s inspiration that becomes a design on a piece of silk. When inspiration strikes, I pick up my gutta resist bottle & sketch out my design on the silk which is stretched like a canvas on a stretcher frame.
I apply the dyes with my brush within the resist outline.A splash of salt on the freshly painted fabric !!! Voila… I have snowflakes on my scarf.
The Dyes on the painted scarf are set by steaming in my vertical steamer for 1 to 2 hours.
